Common Cold Treatments

Different individuals will have different home remedies to ‘cure a cold’ but in short a good amount of rest will be more than sufficient. If you’re cold is a bit on the painful side, perhaps with muscle aches and a sore throat, then painkillers, plenty of fluids and Zinc supplements can lessen the severity of your common cold.

Eating healthy can help too and the NHS recommends a low-fat, high-fibre diet, including plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables. To ease any congestion, the hot bowl of water and menthol trick can work wonders. It makes it easier for you to unblock your nose, while it clears the passageways instantly, but like all of these remedies; it’s not necessarily a ‘cure’.

Menthol sweets can relieve a sore throat, but most important you need to make sure you have plenty of rest, plenty of water and you’re cold will soon be on its way.
